Therissos
Therissos
Therissos is small village famous for its incredible wild beauty and for its important history. The glorious past and the reputation of the village is mostly due to the fact that Eleftherios Venizelos (a former eminent Greek prime minister) had his headquarters at Therissos when he declared the union of Crete with the rest of Greece.  His house has been converted into a museum. Therissos is built on the foot of the White Mountains at an altitude of 580 m, 16 km south of Chania.

HOW TO GET THERE:  By buses departing daily from Chania and end up in Village “Therissos” or by car following the signs to “Therissos”
